Finding My Artistic Voice
A month ago I worked with Patty Smit around figuring out my message as an artist. I was battling to figure out where I fit in as an artist and how I could convey my expression.
The Birth of “Dream Ocean”
And what came about (PLUS SOOOOOO MUCH MORE) was that I create dreamy inspirational art.
Art that pulls at your emotions to wake you up to all kinds of possibilities. And to me the ocean is a place of possibility.
It can both kill or give life.
It is teaming with layers of history.
My Lifelong Connection to Water
I am a water child. I could swim before I could even walk. Ask my mom how she battled to keep me out if the fabulous ocean.
The Magic of Imagination
I used to allow myself to imagine mermaids, and all other amazing and epic kinds of creatures lived there. Even though I knew it was fantasy, my imagination was and is still very rich and I dreamt and still dream of that which “does not exist”.
And our imagination is one of our most amazing gifts.
The Joy of Painting Water
After our last session I started painting water. And the freedom it evokes in me is unlike anything I can even begin to put into words.
I feel alert. Happy and so deeply content.
Water: Our First and Universal Experience
Come to think of it, do we not swim in fluid in our mother’s womb? Is our first experience not with liquid?
And does that not signify being peacefully suspended, or drifting along or being carried on some level?
And if you think about the ocean and her tides and waves? And the life she carries inside her?
Need I say more?
“Dream Ocean” is Available
Dream Ocean is available for adoption.
